There’s a pretzel shop in the mall near us that Snickers and I walk past every time we’re running errands, and without fail, she stops dead in his tracks when we get close. The smell of fresh-baked pretzels wafting out is apparently irresistible to both humans and dogs, though I’ve had to disappoint her every … Read more
Saturday mornings at our house smell like butter, maple syrup, and chaos (the good kind), where everyone’s shuffling around the kitchen in pajamas waiting for pancakes to hit their plate. A couple of weeks ago, Snickers was doing his usual routine of sitting perfectly still next to the stove, convinced that if he were patient … Read more
Last month, I was sitting on the couch with an Oreo in one hand and my phone in the other when Snickers gave me that look (you know the one), where they tilt their head and stare at your snack like you’re committing a crime by not sharing. I felt guilty for about two seconds … Read more
Sunday mornings in our house have a rhythm to them: coffee brewing, pancakes on the griddle, and Snickers planted firmly at my feet, convinced she’s been forgotten in all the breakfast chaos. A few weeks ago, I was pulling out the waffle maker for the kids when it hit me: why shouldn’t Snickers get in … Read more
You know those mornings when you’re running low on dog treats and your pup is looking at you like it’s the end of the world? That happened to me last Tuesday. I opened the treat jar to find exactly three sad-looking biscuits rattling around at the bottom, and Snickers was doing her whole “I’m starving … Read more
Genius. That’s what baby food is for dog treats. It’s already perfectly smooth, pre-cooked, and comes in flavors dogs love. Plus, it’s made for babies, so you know the quality standards are high. I stumbled onto this recipe when I had leftover baby food from visiting my niece and didn’t want it to go to … Read more
I honestly don’t know who loves peanut butter more, my toddler, Lana, or Snickers. Last year, I caught the two of them hiding behind the kitchen door, sharing a spoonful straight from the jar, both with that same guilty grin. It was one of those moments you can’t even be mad about, you just laugh, … Read more
Pantry staples. That’s all you need for these treats. Oat flour, applesauce, and eggs. Things you probably already have sitting in your kitchen right now. I made these on a rainy afternoon when I realized I was out of dog treats and didn’t feel like running to the store. Twenty minutes of hands-on work, and … Read more
Here’s the truth most people miss: licking isn’t just about taste: it’s about therapy. When dogs lick, they’re not just going after the flavor; they’re self-soothing, releasing endorphins, and grounding themselves in the moment. It’s their version of yoga… minus the mat, plus peanut butter. That’s why lick mats have quietly become one of the … Read more
Simple. That’s the beauty of these banana chips. One ingredient (okay, technically two if you count the lemon juice), minimal effort, and a treat that lasts for weeks. I started making these on a whim when I had bananas turning brown on my counter—too ripe for me but perfect for my dog. Now they’re a … Read more
