The first time I tried making chicken and oatmeal dog food, it wasn’t planned (it was pure survival). Dinner was already a circus: one kid refusing broccoli, the other asking for pancakes at 6 p.m., and Snickers sitting by the stove with that “don’t forget me” stare. I needed something that wouldn’t take five different … Read more
Busy. That’s how most of my days feel. Between school drop-offs, dishes piling up, and a dog who somehow knows the exact second I touch the pantry door, there isn’t always time for complicated recipes. That’s where these no-bake applesauce treats come in. Five simple ingredients. One bowl. No oven. The kids love helping roll … Read more
Chaos. That’s the best word for evenings in my house. Kids at the table, homework everywhere, the dog pacing like he’s on kitchen patrol. And me? I’m just trying to keep up. Thanksgiving. For most families it’s turkey, stuffing, and pie. For Bentley (my very first dog) it was pumpkin waffles. I used to think a balanced meal meant piling in ten different ingredients, a dash of this, a sprinkle of that, until I realized that dogs thrive on simplicity. Three wholesome ingredients (lean protein, a hearty carb, … Read more
When I first became a dog parent, I was so naive that I really believed those glossy cans of wet food lined up at the store were just as healthy as anything I could make at home. The labels made big promises, the packaging looked trustworthy, and honestly, it felt convenient. But over time, I … Read more
Have you ever caught your dog staring at you mid-bite, eyes wide, tail wagging, silently begging for just one taste of whatever’s on your plate? I know that look all too well (Snickers has practically perfected it). And while it’s tempting to share, the truth is not every human food is safe for dogs. Some … Read more
